On June 29, 1863, the quiet Town of Westminster was suddenly shattered by the thunder of horses' hooves, clashing of sabers, and sounds of gunfire. This battle featured 108 Union troopers of 1st Delaware Calvary against 5,000 Confederate Calvary under J.E.B Stuart. Come learn about the Battle of Westminster, aka "Corbit's Charge. This annual event exhibits a great experience for visitors of all ages and includes guided tours of the Corbit's Charge site, memorial service, graveside memorial service, living history displays, children activities, and historical artifacts.
