FY21 Mini-Grant Application

Read before you begin: You will not be able to save your answers to complete this FY21 Mini-Grant application at a later date.

Select the correct materials for the mini-grant you wish to apply for:

Project Mini-Grant ($500-$5,000)

Operating Mini-Grant, open to nonprofits only ($500-$3,000)

For both application forms, review the Heritage Area Management Plan as you complete the application narrative. Save the application document on your computer/server and then upload it with your application.

Guidelines: Keep in mind that both mini-grant types must be matched 1:1 with non-state funding. New this year: You may use any combination of cash and in-kind support to match your mini-grant. The cap on in-kind match has been removed. No part of your match can be derived from state funds.

You should be able to provide the following materials upon request: IRS letter of determination, bylaws and articles of incorporation (if a nonprofit organization), link to Comprehensive Plan (if a government unit), and your latest financial statement.

Once you have submitted your application you should receive a confirmation email from info@heartofthecivilwar.org with the subject line, "Your application has been submitted to the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area." If you do not receive this confirmation email, your application has not been successfully submitted. Contact emily@heartofthecivilwar.org if you have persistent problems with submission.

Download the narrative document at the top of the page. Complete the form (including timeline, budget, and six questions) and then submit as a Word document or PDF.
