Kickoff the 200th anniversary weekend for Lafayette's 1824 visit to Frederick, Maryland by welcoming Lafayette himself as he returns in style. The Marquis de Lafayette will be portrayed by renowned living historian Mark Schneider of Colonial Williamsburg.
Join the fun as the Marquis de Lafayette returns to City Hall Park and be a part of the commemoration with living history during this FREE community event hosted by the Lafayette in Frederick Committee.
This event is part of the Lafayette 200 commemoration, a nationwide celebration commemorating the famous Frenchman's tour of the United States in 1824-25. Frederick joins dozens of communities in celebrating the legacy of America's favorite fighting Frenchman, a Revolutionary War hero and human rights activist.
