Strange Tales of Civil War Medicine

Hear tales of the Civil War that are stranger than fiction. Join us on Thursday, October 29 at 3:00 PM on Facebook Live for a virtual program hosted by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. You can tune in live by visiting at the scheduled time. Education Coordinator John Lustrea will be talk about grisly, gross, and ghoulish cases from Civil War medicine. He will relate ghastly true tales from the Civil War – stories of grave robbers, experimental surgery, battlefield horrors, and more. These horrific, bizarre, and true stories will help you get in the mood this Halloween season. John Lustrea is the Education Coordinator and the Website Manager at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. He earned his Master’s degree in Public History from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Lustrea previously worked at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park during the summers of 2013-2016. Like these programs?
