Sharpsburg Founder's Day Lecture Series: Braddock- Routes of Defeat

Roger Swartz will trace British General Edward Braddock’s march from Frederick, Maryland en route to Fort Cumberland in 1755. Braddock was to wrest control of the Forks of the Ohio from the French. Following defeat, Swartz will first trace Braddock's army’s march to the Conococheague and through the Conococheague District to Philadelphia. Finally, Swartz will discuss the myth and reality of the accusation that this army abandoned the frontiers of Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Roger G. Swartz (M.A.Ed., M.P.A. Lehigh University), owner of R.G. Swartz & Associates, specializing in educational and consultancy services to educational and educational organizations.
