Civil War Letters by Campfire

The Monterey Pass Battlefield Association presents “Civil War Letters by Campfire.” Join us at 7:30 pm as we read accounts of our local Civil War history as told by the people who experienced it. Hear the voices of the invaders, and those of the defenders, as well as the civilians who were local to the area and in some cases participated in the battle of Monterey Pass.

Battlefield Hikes

Description:

National Park Service Rangers will conduct three hikes that will take visitors to separate areas of the battlefield highlighting the tactics and troop movements that transpired in those areas on July 9, 1864. Each hike covers a distance of less than two miles. Allow a maximum of two hours per hike. Appropriate clothing and footgear for walking is recommended and participants should bring their own water. Meet at the visitor center. Reservations required! 9am, 11:30am, 2pm
